Maine moose – the northern part of the state is known for its moose spotting

When a junkie mainlines dope they inject it straight into their veins. Much the same way Melinda mainlines adventures in to hers. This time in Maine. First we coddiwhompled to Bar Harbor and checked out an authentic Maine fishing (tourist) town. From there, we headed to Ocean Path and hiked to the ocean’s edge. She took pictures of the stone steps leading away from the ocean, back up the hill, just to prove two old, fat people can do it. Twelve hours later, we were up to catch the shuttle to Acadian National Park and Cadillac Mountain. (See more about that here.)

Some pointers:
1.) Don’t buy the vehicle pass to go up to Cadillac Mountain. The shuttle service is much cheaper, easier to get, and you learn much more about the  area. (Cadillac Mountain Summit Shuttle, cadillacmtnshuttle.com 207-669-2476)
2.) Riding through Bar Harbor on a motorcycle is the way to go. You get a better feel for it. Tons of restaurants & shops.
3.) This is one of the best places for biking, hiking, and other healthy nature crap we would never do in a million years. But it’s a great place for it.

Maine is a lot of fun and a very different piece of America. Everyone should do it once. But we have a saying at our home: “Take lots of pictures. We are NEVER coming back.”
