Tomorrow we launch for San Benito, Texas. San Benito is down by Brownsville, TX. It’s about a 293 mile drive from San Antonio, TX. Why Brownsville you ask? Because it is as far away from the snow as I can get and still be in the continental U.S. (We tried Key West, but they require booking a year in advance). I’m not saying I hate snow. Actually, I am. I HA-A-A-ATE snow! I am not particularly fond of cold weather. Sell YOUR cars and ride motorcycles around in sub-freezing weather and see what you think! We are headed toward the Fun N Sun RV Resort in San Benito. It looks like a nice place with plenty of amenities and everyone we have spoken to has given it a thumbs up. It looks like it is the winter home for snowbirds, so I may fit right in. It also looks like it is an ‘older’ market and sadly, I may fit in there too. Not too far from San Padre Island so I anticipate some fun bike rides. I have already made an appointment at a Can-Am dealer in Harlingen, TX to have my bike get it’s regular oil change/tune-up as well as some additional lights added to it.

RV On The Road Yet? is a blog dedicated to the journey one couple has taken on the road to living full time in a Recreational Vehicle. Please keep in mind that we are not RV experts (or lawyers or doctors). We are just a couple muddling our way through this RV thing like anyone else. With luck, we may share something that will save you time or money, or just make you smile. We are primarily doing this so Melinda can keep her 65 best friends informed on our full-time RV adventure exploits. Sometimes humorous and hopefully educational, we will relay the steps we have taken as we travel down the former path of frontiersmen, Gypsies, retired people, and idiots.
