We landed in Whitney Texas on Thursday, but stayed overnight at a Wal-Mart in nearby Hillsboro, TX to get a jump on Thousand Trails’ first-come-first-served policy. Great idea, but when we got to TT at 10:30 for a noon check-in, all the 50 amp spots with sewage connections were taken. So with our 30 amp adapter in hand, we took a 30 amp spot with water and sewer hookups. Another great idea shot to hell. By Saturday morning, we realized the 30 amp breaker box just wasn’t going to work, no matter if it was even unplugged. We moved to a 50amp spot with now sewer drain for a couple of days. We spoke with someone who was moving out on Memorial Day and arranged to take their spot (First-come-first-serve, my ass!). But God just loves it when you plan. It’s raining like crazy. So we had to hook up the electric, sewer and water, set-up the jacks, back-in, and do the slide outs in teh rain. As well as move the bikes from one spot to another.

RV On The Road Yet? is a blog dedicated to the journey one couple has taken on the road to living full time in a Recreational Vehicle. Please keep in mind that we are not RV experts (or lawyers or doctors). We are just a couple muddling our way through this RV thing like anyone else. With luck, we may share something that will save you time or money, or just make you smile. We are primarily doing this so Melinda can keep her 65 best friends informed on our full-time RV adventure exploits. Sometimes humorous and hopefully educational, we will relay the steps we have taken as we travel down the former path of frontiersmen, Gypsies, retired people, and idiots.
