It’s about 375 miles from Rapid City, South Dakota to Cody, Wyoming. It’s not the most scenic route, but the 75 mph speed limit makes it go a little faster than usual. For the most part, I drove while the Queen of Insurance sat in back with a phone and a laptop and did the Nationwide thing. Occasionally, she would come forward and take a few pictures. This would be a nice place to settle down if it wasn’t for all that pesky snow they get in the winter. We are camping at the Ponderosa RV Park (no relation) for a month to check all the awesome bike rides and scenery as well as settle in and get some work done. I will admit, there were some cheek-clinching moments driving a 40′ RV and 22′ trailer through the Big Horn Mountain range. Besides the steep angles which B.A.B.S. (Big Ass Battle Ship) could barely pull that trailer up (I learned to love low gear), there were the hairpin turns with minimal guard rails and off-the-charts drops down the mountains. The dogs, however, just sleep at her feet and are oblivious to the whole thing.

RV On The Road Yet? is a blog dedicated to the journey one couple has taken on the road to living full time in a Recreational Vehicle. Please keep in mind that we are not RV experts (or lawyers or doctors). We are just a couple muddling our way through this RV thing like anyone else. With luck, we may share something that will save you time or money, or just make you smile. We are primarily doing this so Melinda can keep her 65 best friends informed on our full-time RV adventure exploits. Sometimes humorous and hopefully educational, we will relay the steps we have taken as we travel down the former path of frontiersmen, Gypsies, retired people, and idiots.
