Hot Springs, ArkansasLate October/early November found us in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This is more new ground for us as neither of us has ever been here before. The town has a history of gangsters and professional ball players coming here for the “healing waters” of the springs. I think the gangsters mostly wanted to hide out. We had dinner at a nice outdoor cafe and met some nice people here.

I spent a bit of time handling hardware matters.

  • My 2016 Mac crapped out and I fought with that for a couple days trying to resuscitate it.
  • I switched to using my laptop full time, but purchased a 32″ monitor to go with it.
  • The front, left trailer tire steel belt started to push through (truly a nice catch Melinda! That would have sucked on the road.) Took me a couple of days of searching and finagling to get someone to remove it (I could not break the lug nuts off there with my tools) and purchase a new one at Wal-Mart and have them replace it. The warranty covered most of it.
  • Spent another couple of days trying to find a Can-Am service place between here and Yuma that could get us in. Her bike has a saddle compartment that needs a new cable and we could both probably use our regular tune-up/service. Yuma has no Can-Am dealers and I tried about 10 on our route before I found one 50 miles outside of Oklahoma City that can help us the day after Thanksgiving.
  • Another half a day was spent trying to find a groomer for the Giz. Some were booked up until January.

Melinda traveled quite a bit for work with a day trip to Little Rock, a 2-day car rental trip to Mississippi, a 4-day trip to Tampa, and an upcoming 5-day trip to Charlotte. Gizmo almost forgot who she was. Our next stop is one of mine: Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. This is one of the last casinos/poker rooms on my bucket list.
