Full time RV, recreational vehicle, glamping, camping, RV adventureDue to Covid, the RV adventure got a late start out of Texas. We stayed back up by San Antonio for a bit and then meandered through Oklahoma and into Missouri. We stayed near Branson for a week or two (Melinda insisted), but due to Life During Covid, almost everything was closed.

From there, we traveled to Nebraska. There’s a reason they call it a Fly-Over State. B.O.R.I.N.G. Melinda actually was able to go out and measure the corn growing there. She enjoyed riding to the state capital and seeing some Nebraskan art museums. I enjoyed leaving.

The Corn Palace Princess

South Dakota

Let me tell you about Mitchell, South Dakota. There is nothing there. EXCEPT The Corn Palace. And in 1967, Ms. Melinda Moss was crowned the Corn Palace Princess by the grandson of Sitting Bull. She got a certificate, her picture in the Seville paper, and bragging rights until the stars fall out of the sky. So if you think we could drive through the upper mid-west states WITHOUT going to Mitchell, SD, you do not know my wife. I will say the staff made a big deal out of it. They even had a local newspaper reporter/photographer come and interview her. It was fun to see her so happy.

Paul’s new 2020 Can-AM

June saw us in Rapid City, SD (just south of Sturgis). My Can-Am had an issue with the emergency brake and while I was at the Can-Am dealership service desk discussing that, I get a text picture of Melinda sitting on a new 2020 Can-Am. I told the service guy not to do anything until I found out if I had just bought a new motorcycle. Three hours later, I drove out of Rapid City on my new Can-Am. My old bike was paid off and I was having some heartburn about going into debt again, but I’m glad I did it.

Canyon in Utah

Wyoming

We headed west and stayed in Cody, Wyoming for a month and had one of the best times ever. We stayed right outside of Yellowstone park and rode the bikes through there a lot. Gorgeous mountain ranges, animals of every kind, and wild rides over Beartooth Pass in Montana. We had a blast. We sort of fell in love with Wyoming and have been back numerous times.

Goldfield Gold Mine Ghost Town

From Wyoming we did Utah. I thought it would suck, but as usual, Melinda was right and it was gorgeous. We stayed in a town so small that you had to walk sideways to get past the stop sign (Panguitch, Utah), but it was centrally located in the middle of 5 national parks.

Melinda’s new 2020 blue Can-Am

We stayed for a while in Mesa, Arizona, and rode the bikes to Tortilla Flats and the Goldfield Mining Town. It’s now October and you know who’s birthday month, so for her birthday she got a brand new 2020 Can-Am, delivered right to our door. We also stayed a week or so in Bullhead City, near Lake Havasu.

Viva Las Vegas

The end of the year brought the Rv adventure to the motherland, Las Vegas. We spent about 4 months there, through some serious winds and various luck at the poker tables.
