Melinda pilots Fernandina Boat Tour

Callahan Florida bullridingHalf of March and April we spent in Callahan, Florida. We visited my friend Karen and her husband, Stan, on Amelia Island, went to lunch a few times, and took the Fernandina Boat Tour, which Melinda finagled her way to the wheel. (Don’t ask!) The tour was actually pretty cool. We learned a lot about the history of the area and the uber-rich that used to live there. I never realized how big that area is.

We also got o visit with my niece, Jule, who I had probably not seen in 45 years. Needless to say, we had a lot of catching up to do.

Another big adventure for us was the Callahan Bullriding competition (not to be confused with a REAL rodeo).

I rode the 30 miles down to Jacksonville for a number of DISASTROUS poker sessions at BestBet Poker.

Melinda’s bike got hit in a parking lot and the right fender was destroyed. Getting it fixed at RideNow Powersports was a anther circus and NOT the three ring kind!

We stayed at Kelly’s Countryside RV Park. Not a bad, family-owned place, but WAY out in the sticks.
